The course is targeted at current social service practitioners that directly perform case management roles. This may include frontline social service practitioners from different sectors of social work. The course aims to equip individuals with the fundamental knowledge and skills in dealing with ethical challenges aligned to local legislations, when working alongside with clients/cases in their daily work.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Apply the eight dimensions of Systems Thinking when documenting cases
2. Apply the Systemic Perspective tool to a given context
3. Produce a strategic roadmap based on the Systemic Perspective Model with SMART goals
4. Align clients’ values and beliefs with SMART goals and outcomes in intervention plans
Social service practitioners with at least two years or more in the social service setting, and directly handle and manage cases.
Learners are assumed to possess an English Language (speaking, reading, writing and listening) proficiency level equivalent to:
- GCE ‘O’ level OR
- Employability Skills System Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6
Dr. Christopher Fong (Chris) has a Doctorate of Professional Studies (Practice Research). He is currently an organisational consulting psychologist with much professional work centred on Human Analytics. Underpinned by the theories and approaches of Personality and Individual Differences that helps to measure and assess personalities and behavior at the workplace, Dr. Fong specializes in educating adult learners who are working professionals, to appreciate how scientific instruments are used in selection and recruitment, leadership succession and culture fit that are all pervasive in today’s business environment.
Over the years, Dr. Fong designs various training decks in values based communication and customer services. He also provides executive advisory and advocacy in mentoring & coaching, research, diagnostic & profiling assessments to corporate organizations. Using a variety of assessment tools for identification of personalities for leadership succession, alignment to organization’s culture fit, career and vocational guidance and team alliances.
E-mode of delivery:
• Learners will receive online access to courseware instead of printed materials
• Learners will complete an online course evaluation
This course includes assessment components. Assessment may be conducted during and/or after the course. As there is an assessment component for this course, grading and processing of results can only take place after course completion.
Learners who pass the assessment(s) will be awarded with an electronic Certificate of Achievement from SSI. You will receive an email notification when your e-Cert is ready for download in your NCSS e-Services account.
