Overview:

This e-learning module aims to provide learners with basic understanding of the different types of child abuse and neglect as well as the impact of such abuse on children and young persons. Taking into consideration various factors existing within the family and the systems in place to protect children and young persons, participants will be able to assess the levels of concern and identify the appropriate strategies for intervention.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the course, learners will be able to: 1. Explain the different categories of abuse; 2. Explain the different impact of abuse, neglect and family violence on children and young persons; 3. Interpret the existing systems, procedures and legislation in Singapore that protects and safeguards children’s interest.

Target Participants:

Target audience includes professionals from health, education, social service and law enforcement sectors who interact with children and young persons on a regular basis.
