St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) is an integrated centre for the education, training, and care of persons with autism and their families.

SAAC comprises St. Andrew’s Autism School (SAAS) and St. Andrew’s Adult Autism Services (SAAAS), serving children, youths and adults with autism. SAAAS runs St. Andrew’s Adult Home (Sengkang) [SAAH] which will receive its first residents in April 2019, and two Day Activity Centres (DACs) at different locations.

SAAH is Singapore’s first residential facility designed and built to meet the needs of adults of autism.

We invite interested and qualified persons to join us to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of our students or adult clients and residences; to provide behavioural support, life skills training, family support and public education.

SAAC seeks to enable people with autism to lead dignified and meaningful lives.

About The Role

• Supervises care staff to ensure that residents are properly cared for and meaningfully engaged
• Responsible for the selection and recruitment of care staff and other subordinates
• Ensures activities and operations are carried out in compliance with statutory requirements, laws and internal SOP
• Formulates strategies, policies and work plans and conceptualizes goals and objectives to align with ADH’s mission, vision and programme
• Continuously develops and reviews programmes and services provided and benchmark against best practices
• Establishes procedures and systems towards good governance and achieving programme outcomes with an emphasis on individual care plans
• Manages the appraisal, discipline and welfare of care staff including staff dormitory
• Manages staff, visitors and volunteers’ orientation, whenever necessary
• Works closely with Allied Professionals in admission and management of residents
• Develops good working relationships and proactively networks with funding bodies, various agencies, relevant stakeholders, etc.
• Responsible for all licensing related matters including on-site inspections, submitting of regular reports to all the relevant bodies, compliance with statutory requirement, licensing renewal, etc.
• Prepares and proposes annual budget
• Exercises prudent budgetary operations and ensures that the operating expenses are within budget
• Any other duties and projects as assigned from time to time


Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

•Plans and supervises day-to-day activities of ADH and ensure that responsibilities of all staff are defined and understood
•Provides a safe, caring, engaging home environment for residents as well as actively support resident involvement in on and off-site community activities


Core Competencies:

•Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Resourceful and able to work independently with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

•Proficiency in MS Office applications
•Passionate to work with adults with disabilities
