ABOUT THE ROLEProject X-CITE is a youth mental well-being programme aimed at helping youths manage, regulate, and direct their emotions toward positive outcomes. It deploys volunteers who mentor and meet participants regularly in small group settings.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Recruitment and screening of youth participants and volunteer mentors• Screening participants and volunteers to ensure they meet programme requirements• Assessing suitability of volunteers to serve as mentors to youth participantsConducting training, monitoring and support of volunteer mentors• Training and equipping volunteers with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to function as effective mentors in the programme• Monitoring volunteers’ performance and progress in the programme• Supporting volunteers’ needs and motivating them to function effectively as mentors to youth participantsStakeholder Engagement• Contextualising programme content for mentoring and small group activities• Providing coordination and supporting both youth participants and volunteer mentors• Providing basic counselling and crisis management, if required• Monitoring, managing, and coordinating data and information needed for reporting and evaluation purposes• Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays, when required
• Degree in youth work or counselling or psych or social work, min 3 years’ relevant exp, preferably in coordinating and conducting youth mentoring programmes• Exp in working with youths aged 18-25 yo• Online engagement tools• Basic counselling and crisis mgt skills• Microsoft Office
