St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) is an integrated centre for the education, training, and care of persons with autism and their families.

SAAC comprises St. Andrew’s Autism School (SAAS) and St. Andrew’s Adult Autism Services (SAAAS), serving children, youths and adults with autism. SAAAS runs St. Andrew’s Adult Home (Sengkang) [SAAH] which will receive its first residents in April 2019, and two Day Activity Centres (DACs) at different locations.

SAAH is Singapore’s first residential facility designed and built to meet the needs of adults of autism.

We invite interested and qualified persons to join us to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of our students or adult clients and residences; to provide behavioural support, life skills training, family support and public education.

SAAC seeks to enable people with autism to lead dignified and meaningful lives.

About The Role

Provide support and assistance in the delivery of care services to adults with autism. This involves and includes medical health, hygiene and skills training.
•Conduct and record regular health check for residents
•Assist in dispensing of medication, when necessary
•Coordinate and escort clients for appointments at hospitals or polyclinics
•Provide personal hygiene, grooming care for the residents e.g. bathing, nail cutting etc where necessary

Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

•Support residents in maintaining and improving their daily living (ADLs), community living (CLSs) and Emotional and Behavioral (EBMs) skills.
•Coordinate with therapists and psychologists and assist in the required interventions for residents

Core Competencies:

•Facilitate and conduct activities programs e.g. art and craft, music and dance, etc
•Support residents for outings, events or interaction with volunteers and donors.
•Attend and submit reports of emergencies when it arises
•Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

•Candidate with supervisory skills will be of advantage
•PC literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
•Able to work in a fast pace work environment
•Have a sense of urgency and ability to prioritise
•Experience in community or special needs settings will be advantageous.
