Reports to Head of Social Work and Psychosocial Services. The jobholder also holds a dotted line reporting relationship to the Service Head if attached outside of inpatient services.Key Responsibilities- Render professional psycho-emotional, social and spiritual care and support to patients and their significant others and, in doing so, help them lead more meaningful and satisfying lives in the context of the situation where the death of a family member is imminent. - Play an active role in the planning and execution of the activities of the Hospice that promotes the objectives and the mission of the Hospice.- In conjunction with the Volunteer Programme Manager, to engage, train and supervise volunteers in specific areas of patient care.- Organise and conduct workshops for community partners.- Promote the practice and use of palliative care by undertaking educational, research and outreach activities as assigned from time to time.- Be prepared for job rotation around the different programmes or services, e.g. Inpatient, Home Care and Programme Dignity to address different patients’ needs and optimise manpower resources.- Participate in the organisation of memorial service, support groups, outings and any other ad-hoc projects assigned by management.- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor and management from time to time.
Degree in Social Work or Counselling or relevant formal qualifications from a recognised university.
Good Interpersonal and communication skills.Energetic, committed and enjoy working as a team.
Preferably 1-2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
