THK Home for the Disabled division runs five main Homes and Hostels for the Disabled. The division aims to ensure that adults with disabilities enjoy the highest possible quality of life, especially in the areas of health and well-being, participation, independence, decision-making and inclusion. Structured programmes are designed to suit the residents of different age groups and profiles to train and develop their capabilities in self-help, community living, socialization, perceptual-cognitive and motor skills.
About The Role
The Workshop Instructor plays a crucial role in a multidisciplinary vocational rehabilitation team to empower people with disabilities to participate in work activities to gain a sense of identity, improve self-esteem, and a way to give back to society. You will work closely with the occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker, caregivers and community partners as part of the multidisciplinary team. Your challenge is to implement innovative strategies to help people with disabilities to integrate in the workforce, do well at their jobs and progress in their careers.
Client management: Prepare and conduct skill training programmes Prepare and conduct prevocational lessons Work with clients and caregivers to achieve suitable employment outcomes Document clients progress and work with multidisciplinary team for intervention and review Contribute to case reviews Programme development: Assist in the research, development and production of training materials Initiate programme improvement plans Administration and Operation: Routine admin duties such as preparation for audits and inventory management Other duties as assigned
