About The Role
- Oversee the community relations functions of the organisation, including public relations, volunteer management, fundraising. - Formulate and implement the overall communication strategies and engagement programmes for the organisation. - Oversee and co-ordinate the regular in-house publications and collaterals such as Newsletters and Annual Reports. - Oversee website management and maintenance, and facilitation of digital work on various IT platforms - Oversee the effective management of social media platforms. - Develop, plan and execute community events that reach out to the immediate community. This includes overseeing the logistical requirements, pre-event communications and briefings to ensure positive outcomes. - Oversee the process of digitalisation of work-related content such as curriculum content and teaching aids as well as facilitating digital approaches across different departments. - Oversee the management of volunteers and volunteer-driven programmes and services, including building up the volunteer pool and encouraging long-term partnership - Collaborate with other departments for their inputs and ideas in the planning, development and organising of complementary volunteer-driven programmes and services. - Work together with the Board and Fundraising Committee, to plan, organise and execute all fundraising activities. - Ensure that fundraising collaterals are updated and deployed on a regular basis.
Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:
• Degree in Mass Communication or Business with at least 5 years of relevant experience. • Familiarity with public education, event management and project stakeholder engagement. • Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
Core Competencies:
• Good understanding of the social service arena and non-profit sector. • Good project management, planning and organisation skills. • Strong leadership qualities. • Ability to create and edit written and visual content effectively.
Preferred achievements / characteristics:
• Strong interest in community work, with a customer service orientation and good stakeholder awareness. • Self-starter, able to work outside office hours on occasion. • Attention to detail and accuracy with ability to be adaptable and meet tight deadlines.
