About The Role

The role of a SPED Teacher is to design and develop specialized lesson plans to help students with special needs to cope and achieve their learning objectives. The SPED Teacher will be working closely with allied health professionals, social workers, psychologists, families, and the community to help the students to reach their fullest potential and enjoy an enhanced quality of life.


Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
• Employ special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the
development of sensory- and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.

Core Competencies:

• Work in tandem with Teacher Aide to achieve quality outcomes for the students.
• Maintain professional competence by participating in staff development activities,
curriculum development meetings, and other professional opportunities.

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

• A recognized local polytechnic diploma
• Having a Diploma in Special Education (DISE) would be advantageous
• A heart to serve in the special needs sector
