About The Role
•To provide support and assistance to the Therapists specifically Occupational Therapists (OT) and Speech and Language Therapists (SLT).
•Develop intervention packages, with guidance from the therapists, for students with presenting difficulties or development in some or all of the areas of self-help skills, motor coordination, sensory processing, language skills that may affect their participation and occupational performance in class-based and school-based activities. •Support the management of case load for students with MID, ASD and other co-morbid conditions within a multidisciplinary team of Allied Professionals. •Work closely with families, colleagues and other Allied Professionals in decision making relevant to intervention and strategies being implemented for the student. •Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality at all times when imparting complex information regarding student’s difficulties and the impact on the individuals and their families. •Employ basic counselling skills when necessary. •Ensure that the students and their parents/caregivers are involved in the planning and implementation of strategies/care plan wherever possible. •Carry out therapeutic procedures under the guidance and instructions provided by the therapists – OT/SLT •Plan, implement, monitor and follow-up on programmes and activities.
•Experience working in Special Needs environment is highly preferred
•Attention to details, discreet, good time management and interpersonal skill
•Good time management and organizational skills.
•Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred achievements / characteristics
•NITEC/ Diploma in Nursing, Therapy Services, Community Care and Social Science or equivalent from recognised institutions
•Organised, meticulous and good in administrative skill
