About The Role

Job Responsibilities:-
• Conduct in-depth assessment and produce written report on the suitability of applicants for the role as respite carer, present findings to the management of BT and follow up on decisions and recommendations.
• Match respite families with a foster child, based on factors such as the CANs assessment or age race religion as well as the foster parent’s capability in meeting the child’s needs.
• Conduct all the necessary checks including announced and unannounced home visits
• Provide a 24hour hotline for respite carer per duty schedule and ensure that the team follows up on outcomes
• Supervise and support foster placement so as to prevent breakdowns in foster child’s existing care arrangements
• Spearhead in case movement through regular team meetings, Monthly case review sessions, supervision sessions etc.
• Identify at-risk situations, and develop strategies and intervention plan to address child safety issues, and wellbeing.
• Produce accurate recordings on the cases and to submit reports punctually, to BT and other partners.
• Participates in road shows and other community outreach events as a when necessary.
• Manage and support volunteers interested in providing their service to SC
• Contribute relevant articles on fostering on SC Facebook and other social media and respond to enquiries
• Support BT operations in managing the donated items
• To engage in some marketing and publicity projects to promote SC services.

Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

• Planning, coordinating, organizing , implementing and evaluating
• Administrative – documentation, filing, report writing
• Assessment and case management

Core Competencies:

• Understanding the impact of fostering on children or CYP and able to preempt and address the developmental needs of children or CYP.

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Experience in working with children and CYP and their families
• Bachelor of Social Work or Psychology or Counselling or Recognised Social Work qualifications from SASW
