Beyond Social Services began as a charity based in Bukit Ho Swee, one of the oldest housing estates in Singapore. All our work moves toward development of children and youth from disadvantaged and troubled backgrounds for them to escape the cycle of poverty and crime and be responsible citizens. Our programmes are managed within 3 departments namely Problem De-escalation, Family Strengthening and Community Integration. We have 60 staff and more than 400 active volunteers who have chosen to apply their gifts and talents, skills and abilities in the service of others.
About The Role
Job Purpose To recruit, deploy and engage volunteers with the view of building a membership organisation that is driven to realize the vision of a strong and inclusive community which values compassion, social justice and community.
Key Responsibilities • Work with the various departments to review and identify the needs of volunteers • Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit the right volunteers with the right skills • Promote the volunteer programme to gain community support of the programme and the organization • Assess the need for volunteers to enhance programme, service delivery • Conduct an orientation program for new volunteers to increase their understanding of the organization and an appreciation of our members • Ensure that the volunteer management process is in line with the SOP • Ensure that volunteer check-in procedures are followed, and records of volunteers’ data and hours are maintained according to established procedures • Review and support the maintenance of the SOP of the volunteer management process. • Be familiar with the utilization of the volunteer management software tool (CRM) and to send out regular communications to volunteers
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills: Speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools
• Good planning and organizational skills and collaborative working with internal and external partners
Individuals looking for a career switch are encouraged. The Volunteer Management Executive will report to the Volunteer Management Manager to build a better Volunteer Management team. Experience in volunteering in social service sector is preferred
Preferred achievements / characteristics
Volunteer Management Executive often has an office base but spend much of their time out and about in the community, visiting local people and groups and attending meetings.
• There is frequent contact with individuals, agencies, and groups in the community.
