PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY- Design a clear animal-assisted programme based on therapeutic objectives in a group setting. - Conduct and facilitate animal-assisted programmes with client groups. - Provide individual or group counselling to clients.- Evaluate and measure the impact of animal-assisted programmes.- Coordinate with schools, partners, and stakeholders to make arrangements for clients. - Conduct outreach to the community. - Liaise with Animal Welfare Groups (AWGs), shelters, fosterers, and adopters to recruit suitable programme dogs. ANIMAL-HANDLING - Learn and apply the basics of animal management (i.e. dog-handling, Canine First Response, Animal Assisted Intervention, and animal-related therapy courses) in the programme facilitation. - Assist with husbandry duties before and after programme.OTHERS - You will report directly to the Canine Programme and Centre Manager.- You are expected to drive the company vehicle to facilitate the safe transportation of dogs to and from their homes for training, programmes, or outreach purposes on a regular basis.- You may need to work on the weekends and public holidays on occasion if there are programmes or events.- You are to provide operational assistance to the Canine and Equine Programme Department when required.- You may be asked to support other ad-hoc activities or projects.
- At least a degree in counselling or psychology, recognised by SAC or APACS- At least one-year experience in counselling or therapeutic work- Must have Class 2 or 3 driving licence - Experience working with people with special needs - Familiarity with an evidence-based framework
- A strong team-player who is also able to work independently- Able to confidently deliver programmes to beneficiaries - Able to engage stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs
- Love for animals- Empathetic, innovative and client-centric- Motivated and self-driven - Practical experience handling or owning dogs or other animals- Understanding of the animal welfare groups, foster ecosystems, and shelters in Singapore
