MINDS has been serving persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) across their entire lifespan in the past 59 years. Helping and enhancing the quality of life of 3,000 PWIDs annually, MINDS’ also focuses on care and support of families and caregivers. Today, an 850-strong workforce, with the assistance of volunteers, runs over 30 facilities, services and programmes island-wide.

MINDS has 4 Special Education Schools, 3 Employment Development Centres, 8 Training and Development Centres, a Residential Home for Adults, a Children’s Home, a Hostel, a Caregivers Support Services Centre, a Special Student Care Centre, and a Developmental Disabilities Medical Clinic, as well as numerous other significant services such as Appropriate Adults for Persons with Mental Disabilities (AAPMD), Allied Health Professionals (AHP), Me Too! Club (MTC) and MINDS MYG (a volunteer subsidiary wing of MINDS).
These efforts are supported by MINDS Institute which specialises in the research and development of holistic and sustainable approaches to nurturing and developing PWIDs.

About The Role

To assist and perform in the tasks of teaching, training, supervising, maintaining and developing the functioning level of client to function adequately and independently in the areas of Activities of Daily Living, Community Living, Social and Recreational Skills.

- Assist and engage in continuous assessment, training and evaluation of trainees’ holistic Development.
- Assist in unit operational management.
- To ensure safety procedures are adhered to in respect to alighting and boarding of buses by our clients upon arrival and departing from the centre.
- Organize inclusion activities for trainees.
- To look into the safety aspects of the centre, clients and staff.


Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

Minimum O Levels or Diploma Holders
Certified training in Social Services or Disability Studies is an added advantage
Willing to work with persons with intellectual disabilities

Core Competencies:

Good interpersonal and communication skills and a good team player
