MINDS has been serving persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) across their entire lifespan in the past 59 years. Helping and enhancing the quality of life of 3,000 PWIDs annually, MINDS’ also focuses on care and support of families and caregivers. Today, an 850-strong workforce, with the assistance of volunteers, runs over 30 facilities, services and programmes island-wide.

MINDS has 4 Special Education Schools, 3 Employment Development Centres, 8 Training and Development Centres, a Residential Home for Adults, a Children’s Home, a Hostel, a Caregivers Support Services Centre, a Special Student Care Centre, and a Developmental Disabilities Medical Clinic, as well as numerous other significant services such as Appropriate Adults for Persons with Mental Disabilities (AAPMD), Allied Health Professionals (AHP), Me Too! Club (MTC) and MINDS MYG (a volunteer subsidiary wing of MINDS).

About The Role

To be accountable to the Head of Centre for the safety and general well-being of the trainees in the Training and Development Centre.
To work collaboratively with the Training Officers in the day to day operations of the Training and Development Centre.

Programme Management and Development

To assist in executing and implementing Individual Training Programme (ITP) with the supervision of senior TOs
To assist in continuous assessment and training and evaluation of trainees holistic development
Collaboratively work with families in the implementation of trainees ITPs
Implement and monitor trainees security and safety procedures

Administrative and Operations

To assist in recording information pertaining to individual trainees in Clients Log e.g. communications to from caregivers and occurrences
To assist in recording significant behaviours for regulation in ABC Chart and Behaviour Incident Log
To report of any incident and critical trainees occurrences and events
To assist in implementing routine checks on physiological and psychological well-being of trainees
To assist in conducting appropriate group activities
Communicate and maintain good rapport with parents and caregivers
Attend staff meeting regularly
Attend training as and when required

Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

Minimum Secondary Education or Employability skills (ES-WPLN) any other relevant courses
Computer literacy skills – MS Words, Excel and PowerPoint

Core Competencies:

Good interpersonal and communication skills
Passion to work with people with intellectual disabilities
