About The Role

We are a charity and Institute of Public Character (IPC) striving to enable and support persons with special needs. We believe that every child should have access to therapy, making therapy available to those from low-income families who may not be able to otherwise afford intervention. We adopt an ecosystem approach towards enabling and empowering children and youth with special needs to live independently, be work ready, work able and sustain employment. This is achieved by providing a holistic support, engaging and involving caregivers in the process.

Responsibilities:
• Assess and identify client’s needs with respect to speech pathology issues in home, school and work contexts
• Deliver in-person and virtual speech pathology services both in individual and group settings
• Monitor, evaluate and document the clients’ progress
• Conduct meetings and webinars with parents and caregivers regularly and work with them to enhance learning
• Work with members of the integrated team in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Company-curated programmes relating to enabling clients to be work ready, work able and live independently
• Conduct talks, webinars and workshops for parents and caregivers and members of the public
• Provide consultation and training services for other professionals, educators and organizations


Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge and use of Speech and Language Therapy theories, models of practice, principles and evidence-based practice
• Ability to determine the need for a Speech and Language therapy evaluation and to select and administer appropriate assessment tools to evaluate clients needs

Core Competencies:

• Passion for working with children and youth with special needs
• Resilience
• Work closely with members of the integrated team to ensure best practice and high-quality care

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

• Recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology
• Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in working with children and youth with special needs
