Autism Association (Singapore) or AA(S), is a Social Service Agency dedicated to supporting and serving individuals with autism to maximise their potential, helping them lead meaningful and quality lives in society.

The Association manages a suite of programmes and services under the Eden brand portfolio. These include:

Eden Children’s Centre for young children with autism (aged 2 – 6 years old)

Eden School,, for children and youths (aged 7 – 18 years old)

Eden Centre for Adults (Clementi and Hougang) (aged 18 – 55 years old)

Eden Activity Club for persons with autism who may not be accessing programmes and services

AA(S) programmes and services aim to impart life-skills to maximise the potential of persons with autism to lead dignified, independent, meaningful and quality lives in society. The profile of our students and adult clients leans toward moderate to severe autism.

About The Role

Assessment and Intervention
1. Conduct Assessment and Intervention on Sensory Issues
2. Develop Programmes to intervene students with severe handwriting or hand function difficulties
3. Conduct Assessment on Vocational Skills
4. Be part of the multidisciplinary team to assess and intervene for complex challenging behaviors

Program Planning and Delivery
• Plan and deliver programmes for students with Autism Spectrum in the area of Life Readiness skills
• Adapts school and classroom environment, tools and materials (adaptive devices or equipment)

Training and Coaching
• Provide training, consultation, and instruction to teachers on the use of adaptive devices and equipment
• Supervise OTs eligible for registration with Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore to be a Full Registrant

Management and Service Operations
• Monitor individual agreed KPIs for OT service provision.
• Lead with the team in the development of program, policies and procedures to promote best practice in OT service provision

You should possess the following:
• Registered OT with the Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore as Full Registrant
• Preferably have attained a Supervision certificate
• At least 5-7 years of relevant working experience in the same or related field including assessment, intervention and teaching
• Desire to learn about Autism and the passion to serve the autism community and their families

Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge and use of Occuptional Therapy theories, models of practice, principles, and evidence-based practice

Core Competencies:

• Ability to assess and identify the individual needs of clients and formulate, develop and implement appropriate individualized therapy programmes

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

• Full registration with The Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Passionate about working in the Social Service industry.
