St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) is a non-profit organisation for the education, training, and care of persons with autism and their families.

SAAC comprises St. Andrew’s Autism School (SAAS) and St. Andrew’s Adult Autism Services (SAAAS), serving children, youths and adults with autism. SAAAS runs two Day Activity Centres (DACs) at Siglap and Sengkang, and St. Andrew’s Adult Home (Sengkang), Singapore’s first residential facility designed and built to meet the needs of adults of autism.

SAAC seeks to enable people with autism to lead dignified and meaningful lives.

We invite interested and qualified persons to join us to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of our students, clients and residents; to provide behavioural support, life skills training, family support and public education.

About The Role

·Oversee the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation of tiered system of services, tapping on the specialised clinical skillsets of psychologists and social workers to deliver necessary support to students, clients and residents with autism and their families. With careful deployment of your team of social workers or psychologists to lead colleagues in the management of complex cases requiring various parties to play different roles.

If your background is in Social Work, to lead the team of Social Workers:

To support the families of the students, clients and residents, to enable families to better care for the students and clients, by building networks with other agencies and partners, e.g. Family Service Centres, Social Service Offices, CDCs, other social service agencies offering specialised services, etc.
To design, implement, monitor and evaluate a system for partnering with families to support the beneficiaries of SAAC through different stages of the person’s lifespan.

If your background is in Psychology, to oversee:

The entire system for positive behaviour support of students, clients and residents, leading the psychologists to deliver systematic support in partnership with teachers, coaches and care staff.
The psychological and other assessments for beneficiaries of SAAC for various purposes, including admissions and placement in other services.

Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

·Strong leadership skills to guide the team of Psychologists and Social Workers
·Good interpersonal and communication skills
·Able to work independently and effectively under pressure

Core Competencies:

Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop holistic approaches for the development and care of students, clients and other stakeholders

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

·Be a registered psychologist or social worker, with at least 3 years of experience in a leading role.
·Passion to work in the Social Service Sector and experience working with children and adults with special needs would be an added advantage.
