The Resource Teacher supports children with special needs aged 2 to 6 years old who have been diagnosed as having mild to moderate disability, under the Integrated Child Care Programme (ICCP). Some of the key responsibilities include:1. Observe learning needs of SN children, plan and implement IEP within the regular educational setting aimed at optimising each child’s learning potential2. Provide individualised intervention (once or twice a week) to help children with special needs better succeed in daily learning and living3. Provide on-going monitoring of programme effectiveness4. Support the transition of these children into mainstream primary school where necessary5. Support classroom teachers by making recommendations and demonstrating intervention strategies to work towards achievement of IEP goals6. Share with parents the strategies that work with these special needs children and conduct training for parents
• Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education• Advance Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (ADESN) or equivalent and 3 years of experience working in the EI sector.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills.• Must have initiative and ability to work independently and yet be a good team player• An organised and systematic worker
• 2 years of experience working with children with developmental concerns and special needs in early childhood settings.
