The Association manages a suite of programmes and services under the Eden brand portfolio. These include:

Eden Children’s Centre for young children with autism (aged 2 – 6 years old)

Eden School, www.edenschool.edu.sg, for children and youths (aged 7 – 18 years old)

Eden Centre for Adults (Clementi and Hougang) (aged 18 – 55 years old)

Eden Activity Club for persons with autism who may not be accessing programmes and services

AA(S) programmes and services aim to impart life-skills to maximise the potential of persons with autism to lead dignified, independent, meaningful and quality lives in society. The profile of our students and adult clients leans toward moderate to severe autism.

About The Role

Responsibilities:
Assessment and Intervention
• Conduct speech and language assessment for complex cases and plan for intervention
• Communication level of students and plan for intervention

Program Planning and Delivery
• Plans for intervention in 1:1 or small group
• Implements school-wide initiatives on Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) supports for students with the development team
• Makes necessary referrals to external speech-language therapy services when intervention needs exceed classroom intervention scope

Training and Coaching
• Coach educators on communication screening of students
• Provides AAC consultation, training, and coaching to educators on the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)supports
• Supervise SLT eligible for registration with Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore to be a Full Registrant

Management and Service Operations
• Lead with the team in the development of program, policies and procedures to promote best practice in SLTs service provision.
• Conduct performance reviews of SLTs

Requirements:
• Registered with the Allied Health Professions Council in Singapore as Full Registrant
• At least 5-7 years of relevant working experience in the same or related field including assessment, intervention, and coaching and teaching
• Desire to learn about Autism and the passion to serve the autism community and their families


Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge and use of Speech and Language Therapy theories, models of practice, principles, and evidence-based practice

Core Competencies:

• Ability to assess and identify the individual needs of clients and formulate, develop and implement appropriate individualized therapy programmes

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

• Full registration with The Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Passionate about working in the Social Service industry.
