St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) is an integrated centre for the education, training, and care of persons with autism and their families.

SAAC comprises St. Andrew’s Autism School (SAAS) and St. Andrew’s Adult Autism Services (SAAAS), serving children, youths and adults with autism. SAAAS runs St. Andrew’s Adult Home (Sengkang) [SAAH] which will receive its first residents in April 2019, and two Day Activity Centres (DACs) at different locations.

SAAH is Singapore’s first residential facility designed and built to meet the needs of adults of autism.

We invite interested and qualified persons to join us to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of our students or adult clients and residences; to provide behavioural support, life skills training, family support and public education.

SAAC seeks to enable people with autism to lead dignified and meaningful lives.

About The Role

Contract Role:
· Assists the residents in their daily needs including bathing, serving meals etc
· Assists the residents to maintain good hygiene including regular shower, nails and hair cutting, change of clothes, bedsheets, etc according to schedule
· Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of resident’s environment
· Assists in cleaning and maintenance of general areas
· Maintain accurate documentation of care given
· Provide training and guidance to residents with daily living skills (e.g. sweep floor, clean tables etc)
· Assists with data collection of residents’ progress
· Any other duties and projects as assigned from time to time


Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

· Participates and facilitate in both on and off-site activities with the residents
· Support therapists and psychologist with interventions for residents
· Accompanies residents for medical appointments

Core Competencies:

· Candidate with supervisory skills will be of advantage
· Experience in direct handling of youths and adults (age 19 and above) with autism will be an advantage
· Experience in residential or special needs settings will be advantageous.

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

· Able to work in a fast pace 24 hours work environment
· PC literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
· Have a sense of urgency and ability to prioritise
· Compassionate and patient personality
