About The Role

Purpose of job:
To oversee the management and operations of Eldercare service which includes the Active Aging Centre and Community Mental Health services.

Responsibilities:
• Strategize and operationalise the work of the Eldercare services of Filos
• Manage and supervise the team running the Active Ageing Centre and the Community Mental Health services. This comprises of social workers, case managers, program executives and coordinators.
• Oversee program heads to manage resources, review processes and evaluate outcomes.
• Ensure the day to day operations of eldercare is carried out professionally and according to Filos’ standards and values.
• Lead the team to assess needs to ascertain viability of projects and lead in the planning of new projects.
• Supervise and lead the outreach engagement and public education efforts for community mental health.
• Provide case management intervention for clients, including assistance and referral services.
• Provide supervision to junior social workers and interns.
• Play a key role in building and maintaining community partnerships.
• Review reports and ensure timely submission to stakeholders.
• Oversee proper data collection and protection.
• Prepare and monitor budget for the Eldercare services.
• Identify training and development needs for staff.
• Performance review of staff.
• Adhere to Filos’ policies and promote Filos’ vision, mission and values.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.


Candidate Requirements
Technical Competencies:

- Knowledge to interpret relevant social policies on elderly populations
- Dynamic, quick thinking, adaptable and responsive to change.
- Proficiency in Languages (Chinese or dialects, Malay) will be an advantage.
- Strong administrative skills (in Microsoft Excel or Word or Powerpoint)

Core Competencies:

- Passion for working with elderly
- Strong Leadership Skills with an analytical mind.
- Empathetic Team Player with good interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

- Experience in leading eldercare teams, working with elderly clients in the community setting.
- Experience in casework management and intervention.
- Past experience with mental health work, seniors, caregivers and community outreach
